I am in Grade 11 functions class and for the past week or so we've been learning trigonometry ratios from 0 degrees from 360 degrees. Today was our unit 4 test and I even studied last night, feeling confident on today's unit test, I was right, I was confident even while doing the test and I even thought I would get at least a 90...that was until during the next class when I double checked the correct special triangles ratios and numbers that we needed to remember, turns out I remembered it wrong while doing my test. The problem is most of the questions on the test I just did this morning is dependent on the numbers of the special triangles ratios i needed to memorise...other than the numbers that were wrong, I am pretty sure the process I did were correct.
For those who doesn't know what does memorizing special triangles ratios mean, its just basically a "formula" we needed to remember in order to calculate the correct trig ratios.
I really hope my teacher can give me process marks and not just give me 0 on most of my questions because I am pretty sure my process was right, its just the answers were wrong because I memorised the numbers wrong for the special triangles.
A bit of background info, I was pretty good at math, I got a final average of around 90 on my grade 10 math course last year and I was pretty proud of it considering that the class average was only 75. Now in Grade 11, the things I learned so far aren't too hard, but the tests that my math teacher gives out definitely are. I am very unfortunate to get a bad math teacher since the other tests that other math teachers gives to their students were way shorter and easier. On the first unit test, I even ran out of time and haven't even gotten enough time to finish the whole test...Combined that with my careless mistakes, i got a 70 on my first one then a 58 on the second one. After she realises that her tests was way too long and hard, she went easy on us and gave us an easy one for unit 3, fortunately i got 89 (I expected a 100 but my careless mistakes got the better of me) and bumped up my math grade back to at least a 75...This math test i did just this morning might drag it right back down but i am not sure...
Anyways, those are just a bit of background info and aren't as important
TL;DR:
I forgot an important math formula that was crucial for this unit test and I feel pretty bad about it considering that it is very much avoidable
