TIFU by taking the OPPOSITE of my medication

TIFU by taking the OPPOSITE of my medication

33% of my spine is fractured (t4-t12). This happened in 2021. Caused a lot of nerve damage that led to me developing immediate incontinence after the wreck. After a few years living with these injuries and zero surgeries or any real medical help besides PT (doctors only x-rayed my legs cause I couldn't walk, legs were fine, it was peak COVID), lost my insurance and job.

I've been to the GI doctor for years, only medications that helped my minimum 12 diharea movements a day caused urinary retention.

After years I decided the most effective and safest option for me is to take anti-diharea medication every day, multiple times a day.

IDK if you guys know, but diarrhea medication is stupidly expensive. so you can understand how excited I was when my local pharmacy had a new bottle that instead of a max of 28 pills had like 40 for way less money.

Keep in mind, with everything going on, the anti-diharea meds are what keeps me at around a dozen liquid BMs a day. Without them, it's multiple times an hour.

Took those new pills for almost two weeks, confused as to why this new medication wasn't working. I've tried different brands of diarrhea medication and a lot of them take a while to really start to work so I was really holding on to that, but for some reason my diarrhea was worse than ever. Talking five six times an hour.

I grabbed the bottle to read the ingredients to see how it compares to my normal anti-diharea medication. It was laxatives. I just realized I've been taking laxatives everyday for 2 weeks... very very poorly advertised laxatives that also literally say "stomach discomfort relief" on them.

When I realized I couldn't help but laugh, but also be happy because I got a two week tolerance break for my anti-diharea meds. Seems to be working extra good today 😁

TLDR: I have to take anti-diarrhea medication everyday multiple times a day and I accidentally bought a bottle of laxatives two weeks ago. been taking laxatives instead of anti-diarrhea for over 2 weeks.

TIFU by getting suspended for 2 days by my front office in school.

I (13M) am an African American student at Jeannette junior high who had got suspended for 2 days here. I was in math class minding my business until my teacher had told me to go to the main office, which posed no problem to me. As i went down there, the people of the front office had stopped me and made me get a new ID (yes, we have id's.) so i had asked them if i could maybe do a different alternative and call my mother to let her bring the Id here, even then, the Id isn't that important. So, although i was talking to them in a calm manner and not showing any signs of rebellion, they had threatened to call the police on me without thinking twice before calling my parents. This is where i started getting angry, and even then now the black peers agree that could have been a racially motivated action. They then told me to sit in the office conference room because of that, leading into more anger. They had then called my mother who had came over to the school didn't even let ...

TIFU Accidentally taught my 4 year old nephew the word chlamydia

So I very awkwardly taught my nephew, the word chlamydia the other day and not in the way that you would think… It was actually very innocent. I was with one of my sister’s friends and my friends who’s become part of the family and I was telling her about an interesting fact, not thinking about how my nephew was right beside us. I told her did you know that koalas can get chlamydia and that they can give it to humans… just a fun fact… and then he who can barely say clear words most of the time clearest day said koala chlamydia so that happened And he went to his grandmother’s house today, so I’m kinda hoping he doesn’t say that, but at the same time I would die laughter and about pee my pants if he did because holy crap, how do you react to that? TL:DR I shared a fact about koalas and my nephew hung on to two words from the sentence. Those two words which he repeated were koala chlamydia.

TIFU by asking guy (28F) I (26 F) have been on 5 dates with where we stand.

So, I (25F) have been on five dates with this guy (28M). We were supposed to meet on Friday, but he said he might not be able to or would have to meet quite late, which frustrated me because we only see each other once a week, and we hadn’t met the previous week. Frustrated, I told him, "I think I’m done. It was nice hanging out with you, but I can’t deal with this scheduling issue." He later got back to me and said he could actually make it at our originally agreed time. We went on the date, had a great time, and the next day he texted saying he enjoyed seeing me again. I responded that I did too but also mentioned that the scheduling issue was frustrating. He agreed, and I asked if he wanted to see me again. That’s when he said he’s not sure what he wants in life right now. The thing is, I’m also unsure about what I want in life at the moment. Looking back, I don’t know why I asked such a big question when I’m still figuring things out myself. Everything feels uncertain ...
