TIFU by putting a picture of worms in the work group chat

So i work at a fast food restaurant that won’t be named for the sake of keeping my job. About a week ago my girlfriend showed me a post on Facebook from this dude saying that he found a worm in her drink that was served from my location. My job is just to hand the food out of the window and prepare drive thru customers drinks(think Lemonade and Pepsi). I, trying to be a good employee take a screenshot and put it in our work group chat which is just on an app; honestly i thought the group chat contained everyone that worked in our store not really any other high ranking supervisors. I was wrong. My manager(Big boss) quickly says “you should have texted me about this privately”.

The next day at work i go in thinking nothing really other than i did my duty and they’d say the usual company mandated sorry. About three hours into my shift a separate manager than the one that talked to me starts looking around under my drink machine and after 20 minutes i hear a loud “GASP” followed by three other gasps coming from the other workers snooping. Curious i look down and see under a lifted tile a BED of black writhing worms under the damn floor. So the man was indeed not lying. Immediately another manager shows up and says “Anyone who says the word worm will get fired” and puts a nice bow on that topic for the day.

Every day since we’ve had a circle jerk of maintenance guys coming through and looking at this ice machine. From what i’ve seen there hasn’t been any plan on how the worms got here or what we’ll do and this maintenance routine has really gotten old. Not only is it a pain working without the soda machine but instead of closing the drive thru and looking at the whole area we have to work AROUND them with a few inches of space.

Apparently in that group chat i posted in contained around 5 supervisors that were not happy to see that and they have been sending in the cavalry of maintenance men, but like i said i haven’t seen any actual progress be made. and according to my manager she’s been receiving hate from other Owners on facebook basically chatting shit to her. TL;DR i exposed our worm problem and made corporate rain hell on us.
