TIFU so i tried to fix my coworker`s mistake quietly and accidentally made it 10x worse

so yeah i basically tried to be the quiet hero and ended up being the reason everything blew up

small warehouse office like 5-6 of us nothing fancy everyone kinda covers for each other cuz management is not exactly chill and if something goes wrong it turns into a whole thing

so my coworker lena messes up this order pretty bad wrong quantities wrong address like the whole combo and i catch it while checking something else and shes already gone for the day

and in my head im like ok if this goes out like this tomorrow boss is gonna notice instantly and shes gonna get cooked

so instead of just leaving it or texting her i go nah ill fix it real quick no big deal

i go into the system change everything make it look clean dont leave a note dont tell anyone just thinking yeah crisis averted good job

except… i didnt know she had already manually updated part of the shipping labels

so now system says one thing labels say another and the packages that went out in the morning are basically chaos wrong items wrong clients whole mess

one client already calls pissed like properly pissed

and im sitting there realizing oh cool i didnt fix anything i just made it impossible to trace what actually happened

she comes in gets pulled into the office and im literally sitting there hearing her try to explain something that isnt even fully her fault anymore

and thats when it really hits like yeah she messed up first but i’m the one who turned it into a full disaster

so i tell the boss it was me who edited it and he doesnt even yell just gives that tired look like why would you touch someone else’s work without telling them

which honestly… fair

and lena isnt even mad mad shes just kinda distant like short answers no eye contact which somehow feels worse

cuz i wasnt trying to cover my ass i was trying to cover hers

but i didnt even give her a chance to fix it or explain it i just jumped in and made it more complicated

and now multiple clients got wrong orders shes looked incompetent for half the morning and im the reason the whole thing got messy in the first place

like i thought i was helping

but really i just acted without thinking it through and made it 10x worse

TL;DR: tried to quietly fix a coworker’s mistake to help her avoid trouble, ended up making the situation way worse and getting both of us in trouble instead

I (13M) am an African American student at Jeannette junior high who had got suspended for 2 days here. I was in math class minding my business until my teacher had told me to go to the main office, which posed no problem to me. TIFU Accidentally taught my 4 year old nephew the word chlamydia

So I very awkwardly taught my nephew, the word chlamydia the other day and not in the way that you would think… It was actually very innocent. I was with one of my sister’s friends and my friends who’s become part of the family and I was telling her about an interesting fact, not thinking about how my nephew was right beside us. I told her did you know that koalas can get chlamydia and that they can give it to humans… just a fun fact… and then he who can barely say clear words most of the time clearest day said koala chlamydia so that happened And he went to his grandmother’s house today, so I’m kinda hoping he doesn’t say that, but at the same time I would die laughter and about pee my pants if he did because holy crap, how do you react to that? TL:DR I shared a fact about koalas and my nephew hung on to two words from the sentence. Those two words which he repeated were koala chlamydia.

TIFU by asking guy (28F) I (26 F) have been on 5 dates with where we stand.

So, I (25F) have been on five dates with this guy (28M). We were supposed to meet on Friday, but he said he might not be able to or would have to meet quite late, which frustrated me because we only see each other once a week, and we hadn’t met the previous week. Frustrated, I told him, "I think I’m done. It was nice hanging out with you, but I can’t deal with this scheduling issue." He later got back to me and said he could actually make it at our originally agreed time. We went on the date, had a great time, and the next day he texted saying he enjoyed seeing me again. I responded that I did too but also mentioned that the scheduling issue was frustrating. He agreed, and I asked if he wanted to see me again. That’s when he said he’s not sure what he wants in life right now. The thing is, I’m also unsure about what I want in life at the moment.
