TIFU by stopping a neighborhood girl and telling her to come over whenever.

So I have children and we go to the park often. One day while at the park my kids made friends with a girl about their age. Kids are 7-8 and this girl is around 10 or 11. Anyways, we live in a smaller community and I saw her walking home after the bus dropped her off in my neighborhood. I thought, "Hey I didn't know she lived close I'll stop and tell her to swing by whenever she wants to play with the kids".

I pull up in my car and roll down my window and said, "hey I didn't know you lived close I live (insert house) down the street come by whenever if you want to play." I failed to even ask her if she knew who I was because she took off like a bolt of lightning running home. I immediately knew my mistake and have never felt more awkward. I also follow a community watch group on facebook and guess what shows up later that night. My encounter with this girl is posted as a possible abduction. I made quick work to inform the parents of my mistake and that my intentions were in no way bad. I'll never make that mistake again ha!

Tldr: stopped a neighborhood girl after she got off school and told her to swing by the house whenever after she played with my kids at the park. She didn't remember me and thought I was trying to abduct her.
