TIFU by telling my GF not to Sext me

(This actually happened years ago but the consequences are ongoing.)

Once relatively early in our relationship years ago my girlfriend went on a trip to visit her parents. This was my first serious relationship and I had a lot of odd ideas. One night as we were texting her messages start to turn sexual. She talked about touching herself and imagining that it was me touching her. These messages are long gone but that’s the part I remember that can also be shared.

I did not react well. I was worried that her parents would see the messages on their family plan. I also thought that sexting was something juvenile that teenagers do. Finally, I didn’t see the point of getting worked up when we were in different states. I effectively told her to stop. She basically backtracked, embarrassed, and said that it was just a joke when she said she was cumming. I realize now that she just wanted to feel close to me. She never tried again.

TL;DR: GF tried to sext me and I shot her down so she never tried again.
