TIFU by recording a video for my channel and forgetting there was a mirror behind me

This happened today, and I’m still cringing.

I was filming a video for my (very small) channel—just a chill, casual talking video in my bedroom. I had the front camera on selfie mode, everything looked framed properly, the lighting was good, and I was actually kind of proud of how I looked. No big production, just vibes.

I hit record, did one solid take, felt pretty good about it, and uploaded it straight away without giving it a full rewatch. It’s a small channel, I figured no one would notice any little imperfections.

...Until someone DM’d me.

They were nice about it, but also brutally honest. Turns out there was a giant mirror behind me, perfectly reflecting everything I thought I had cleverly shoved out of the frame. Dirty laundry? Check. A crusty sandwich on a plate? Absolutely. A bra hanging from the back of a chair? Oh yes. I think there was even a sock stuck to the wall—I don’t know how or why.

I deleted the video about 40 minutes later, but the views and screenshots had already happened. Honestly, I’m still mortified. On the bright side, at least I wasn’t naked or something. But damn.

I’m gonna double check my mirrors for the rest of my life now.

TL;DR: I filmed a video in my room and didn’t notice a mirror behind me reflecting all my mess—dirty laundry, a bra, and a sandwich. Uploaded it. Got DM’d. Died inside.

Happened a couple of days ago, but yeah, as the title says... Oops... We've worked together for about a year now; we've always been friendly, but I never really clocked her as a potential romantic option; she's my coworker, she had a boyfriend when we started working together, and to be honest I just thought she was completely out of my league: I'm a schlub and she is gorgeous So when she texts me asking if we want to hang out after work, I genuinely thought nothing untoward would happen; I thought we were just going to chill and watch cartoons; and for a while we were just having a nice platonic hangout. So I have an Amazon account, and a family. Anyhow, the person I'm seeing likes to do things with me... try new things if you know what I mean 😏 Recently I've ordered a few packages with adult toys, swing, etc. And... clone a willy. It came in yesterday while I was out. While I was out I got a notification that the cloning kit came in. I sent my son a text asking him to bring my Amazon package in. He said he had already. I didn't think much of it. Until last night when I went to go... use it. I asked my son where the package was on my way out the door. He asked "The plant stand or the cloning kit?".
