So this happened Saturday and I'm still processing the emotional damage.
My partner Cass and I have a female-led dynamic. Part of that involves me wearing a pink maid's uniform with the frilly apron and everything when I'm doing household chores. It's our thing, it works for us, keeps me focused on service. Usually it's just us, private, no big deal.
Saturday morning I'm deep in cleaning mode—dusting, heels clicking, feeling good about it. Cass is working in her office. I get the notification that a package arrived, she tells me to go get it, totally routine.
I open the door expecting the usual "box on the porch, nobody around" situation.
Nope.
The delivery driver is RIGHT THERE. Young guy, phone already up because he was taking the proof-of-delivery photo. We make eye contact. His eyes go wide. Then he does the obvious scan down—taking in the pink uniform, the apron, the whole situation.
And then I hear it. The click.
He took another photo. Of me. While I'm standing there in full maid regalia looking like a deer in headlights.
I grabbed the package, mumbled thanks, he WINKED at me, and left.
I go back inside absolutely mortified. Cass comes out, sees my face, immediately knows something happened. I tell her. She asks for my phone, pulls up the delivery app, and there it is—the official proof-of-delivery photo. Brown box on the welcome mat, and in the background through the open door, yours truly in pink frills with a look of pure existential horror.
Digital. Permanent. Probably saved to some driver's camera roll forever now.
Cass's reaction? She's delighted. Absolutely thrilled. Says my "dedication to service is now a matter of public record" and that she might try to find out if he posted it anywhere.
So yeah. If you see a blurry photo of a guy in a pink maid outfit looking traumatized on some delivery driver Facebook group...
TLDR: Opened door for package in maid uniform, delivery driver photographed me, now there's permanent digital evidence of my most embarrassing moment floating around somewhere.
