TIFU By not putting the pin in the hitch.

Yey! Long weekend! Let’s go play! Or, so we thought...

So here I am getting all of the toys and equipment ready to go play, all 20k lbs of it. After a super long day at work I came home and got the hitch equipment together and hooked everything up to the truck. I have one of those super hitches with an extension to clear the cab over camper. By the time I was done hooking everything to the truck it was late I was tired so I cleaned up, slid the ball into the end of the extension then headed inside.

The next day...

Come home around noon, put the last minute stuff in the camper, hooked up the trailer, loaded the kiddos and the doggos, and off we went!

Until, the first intersection. Light turns green I hit the throttle and then a little bump in the middle of the intersection.

 !!!!!!BAM!!!!!!

The ball falls out of the end of the extension in the middle of the intersection. It’s one of those B&W adjustable drop balls. The chains were crossed and helped girdle the whole mess. The the bottom of the drop and the 1 5/16” ball took the brunt of everything. So here I am now directly in front of the PD with this giant gouge down the road and the trailer is now sitting on the ground. The trailer has a turn down jack so that’s not going to work...

I grab the high lift off my crawler, jacked up the trailer, set the trailer jack, unhooked everything, turned the rig around and headed back to HQ for a pin. Ran back to the trailer, hooked back up and then we were off!!

Perfect start to the trip...lol I’m such an idiot ha! No one got hurt and I was able to fix my mistake myself and sometimes that’s just part of the journey. We’re all safe and now enjoying ourselves and hope you all are too! Thanks for reading!

TL;DR I was super tired and forgot to put the pin in the ball. Trailer hit the ground in front of the PD. Jacked everything back up and was able to re-pin and go. Sorry for the damage to the road!!

Happened a couple of days ago, but yeah, as the title says... Oops... We've worked together for about a year now; we've always been friendly, but I never really clocked her as a potential romantic option; she's my coworker, she had a boyfriend when we started working together, and to be honest I just thought she was completely out of my league: I'm a schlub and she is gorgeous So when she texts me asking if we want to hang out after work, I genuinely thought nothing untoward would happen; I thought we were just going to chill and watch cartoons; and for a while we were just having a nice platonic hangout. So I have an Amazon account, and a family. Anyhow, the person I'm seeing likes to do things with me... try new things if you know what I mean 😏 Recently I've ordered a few packages with adult toys, swing, etc. And... clone a willy. It came in yesterday while I was out. While I was out I got a notification that the cloning kit came in. I sent my son a text asking him to bring my Amazon package in. He said he had already. I didn't think much of it. Until last night when I went to go... use it. I asked my son where the package was on my way out the door. He asked "The plant stand or the cloning kit?".
