Its one of those things that you never think you would fall for but.... I was completely dumb, stupid, and I blame everything on me.
I was at work, stressed and with a lot of projects on my mind when one of the directors here write me a email If I could do him a favor. Since Im generally new and want to make a good impression, I write back via email sure (I didnt even read the email at all top to bottom, which is my first fuck up)
He tells me to buy something at the supermarket; I thought that since a coworker of mine was leaving, he wanted to setup a surprise brunch. He tells me he needs Google Play cards. In any other business, this should have been a automatic red flag BUT since we are in IT, I thought that maybe he was trying to sell something to a potential client.
I buy (with my money) the cards and pass him the codes. I bought him so much that the shop actually has their own internal limits to counter these type of frauds!
Anyways, I go back to the office and ask a coworker if he has some kind of addition to online games and needs this to keep paying and paying....Which makes my coworker sus and then its when I go "...Fuck"
As a matter of fact, I go out the door and theres the director.I tell him the entire story.
The semigood news is that the national police does consider this fraud so my bank will have to return (some or all) of the 3000€
The bad news is of course this is a timely process and I imagine will take months for me to get the money back.
The good news is that I have a pretty good job (for now)
TLDR; Fell victim to a obvious phishing, bought cards, police says its a fraud, Ill get some money back
