TIFU trying to save a butterfly

yes you read that right. little bit of background: i walk a dog every week and her owners refuse to accept that she is reactive. i’ve been sitting/walking this family for over a year, dog one is a friendly guy but dog two is not like her brother and her parents can’t really accept it and just think she “doesn’t know how to play”. i found a butterfly on the sidewalk who couldn’t fly and i was like “ omg i know how to help!!!” because i am nature obsessed and can’t even kill a spider. the route i was taking passed my house so i figured id go and grab a plate of sugar water for the butterfly. i had my sister hold onto her when i ran inside, came back out and had my sister hand her off to me, and at the same time the dog saw another dog walking down the street and lunged so since i wasn’t expecting it/wasn’t prepared to hold her back, i slipped and cut my hand on cinder blocks.

currently waiting on my stitches at urgent care. they think ill only need a couple but it’s my dominant hand and i work as a server/food runner so i don’t know how ill be able to work as now i cant even do my makeup/hair by myself for at least a weekđź«  hopefully this incident will finally make her parents realize that she is reactive and not just awkward. but hey, i got $40 instead of $20 bc she felt horrible!

TL;DR i was grabbing sugar water for a butterfly and the reactive dog i was walking saw another dog and lunged when i didn’t expect it, resulting in me cutting open my hand, needing stitches
