TIFU by forgetting I had a FSA account

Long story short, I was pregnant and signed up for my benefits. Completely forgot about it bc I had the baby a few days after signing up for said benefits and FSA, I went into maternity leave and stopped having 8 hours of sleep. Anyways, I had to leave my job and today is my last day of benefits, which means today is my last day to use the FSA as well. Today is when I remembered I had the account. 500 dollars. So as anyone would do, I started filling up my Amazon cart with FSA eligible items, all good right? I caught it early right? WRONG Amazon post charges as pre authorization until they ship items. Which even tho I ordered today, my FSA won’t see it as a purchased until the day Amazon decides to ship the items. I could have bought it from the FSA store and it would’ve shown it was bought today. Why won’t they just charge when I placed the order?

TLDR: forgot I had a FSA account and could’ve used/saved 500 dollars for FSA eligible items if I didn’t buy thru Amazon.

TIFU by accidentally adding the police to a private WhatsApp group for private poker nights / sports betting events.

So Poker is highly regulated here in Belgium, so is being a bookie. Yet for the past I don't know how many years I (first with some friends, now alone) have been organizing some private poker nights and have ran a private sports betting competition. This sounds like a big deal, but in reality it isn't. None of the proceeds go to me, nor is there a rake during the poker nights. Problem is: these poker nights happen in 2 pubs after hours when they are closed, both pub owners are really good mates of me. So technically the pubs might be violating the law even though people bring their own booze (some will bring a bottle of Wodka, some a crate of beer, etc ...), pub owners don't actually sell anything during those nights (technically, in practice they sometimes just serve at their cost). The buy-in is also limited to €25 euro (no rebuy), so they are basically soft home games, just taking place in a pub behind closed doors. And everyone knows each other. Most of these people...

Obligatory not today, but I was talking with my ex (the counterpart in this story) and he said he was surprised I hadn’t written this post yet, and truthfully, he’s right.
