TIFU by leaving juice out at work

TIFU by leaving juice out at work

I worked a double bartending last night and forgot to put away some juices (lemon, lime, and OJ). This is totally my bad and unlike me. Usually I’ve been praised by management for being one of the more cleanly bartenders, often using my free time to clean up after my coworkers. I didn’t realize I left them out, so I was surprised when my boss sent a text in the coworkers group chat with a picture of the juice left out saying that they need people to cooperate with putting things away and that it’s costing my boss money and attracting flies. I felt really bad, although I would like to note that we have flies even when things aren’t left out. There are sinks behind the bar and my coworkers use it to dump out drinks, but they don’t clean them. So the fruit flies end up casing the sink and by the time I get there in the mornings I get swarmed by them. This prompts me to deep clean the sinks at the beginning of every shift because it’s gross. Additionally, I think I’m the only employee that cleans these sinks at the end of every shift and I’m the only one that wipes down the bar when I come in and before I leave. The stick builds up on the bar and is gross imo. Last night I also noticed that the mint leafs that management leaves at the bar (for certain cocktails) also had flies burrowing in them. I didn’t use the mint yesterday because of this, but didn’t throw the plant out as per management. While I agree that leaving out juice (which is sealed and closed) can contribute to attracting the flies, it’s not really the whole issue. The juice was also left on ice (which the picture shows it was still on) so I don’t think it was costing money by going bad. I have a good relationship with my boss and they knew I was behind the bar last night. I was wondering if I should respond with an apology, but I don’t know if I should do so in the group chat or privately. I feel like putting it in the group chat is part of some sort of public humiliation ritual, and it caught me off guard. Especially because my boss doesn’t text in it when my coworkers have done similar if not worse things. Any advice?

TL;DR: I left the juice out at work and was blamed for issues going on prior to doing so. Ik I fucked up, but felt it was unfair to be blamed for things going on before the fuck up and am seeking advice.

TIFU By Fumbling My Gym Crush

I've never posted on Reddit before so apologies if anything is off. I (F) had a crush on a man at my gym for months. We would make extended eye contact frequently, workout in proximity, the usual gym things that get over analyzed when you like someone. He's wildly handsome, but I liked his vibe. A lot. It's hard to explain when someone's energy just hits different but his did. One day he started coming in with a woman. The day I saw her with him, he and I actually stared at each other from across the room for a while, and I turned and walked away because obviously gym rules - that's his girlfriend until I'm told otherwise. The eye contact continues and so does the proximity but I've dialed back completely because in my head, he has a girl and I am no home wrecker. Well, recently, on a Sunday, I was having a real shit day. I accidentally hurt my shoulder so my back day was all off, my body wasn't cooperating, the gym was packed - all I wanted to do w...

TIFU by sh*tting in the bushes at a high school

So I’m training for a local 10k race in a couple months. That’s about 6.2 miles. Not a long race but not a short one either. I’m making good progress and tinkering with what works for me on longer runs, how I can keep my body moving at an easy, consistent pace for about 70-80 minutes. I’ve been increasing the distance over the past few months, prioritizing getting the distance down before I work on pace. I train early mornings at a local high school track within walking distance of my house. They have public hours almost every morning from 6-8 am. It’s a very nice track with good lighting and ✨no public bathrooms✨. Because I’ve been focused on increasing distance I’m waking up earlier and earlier to get to the track and really hammer it out before I go home and shower for work. In turn, I’ve been drinking a little extra COFFEE most mornings get my body going. Til now this hasn’t been a problem, I don’t leave the house until my body takes care of business. I successfully dropped the ...
