This happened very recently. My wife and I pet and house sit all over Europe (saves on accommodation) and we usually drive to our sits. So I pack the car, get all things sorted, lock the house, jump in the car, plug in the destination into the cars sat nav and head off.
We have a very long drive ahead of us (11 hours) and we are heading to the French Pyrenees. After the long drive both my wife and I are looking forward to meeting our hosts and having a welcome meal and the usual tour and introduction to the pets (2 cats in this instance).
Anyway it’s starting to get dark and we entered the village working our way through the narrow streets and the satnav says our destination is in 200 meters on the left.
We look at the building and it’s a church. WTF. We call our hosts to check the address and after a bit of back and forth we realise we are in the WRONG VILLAGE! Village has the same name as the village we were meant to go to…..sigh.. Double check your cars sat nav folks.
TLDR: Trusted the sat nav and didn’t check the address properly and ended up 400km away from our planned destination.
