TIFU by accidentally rejecting a girl 3 times

I hope this still fits here but I kinda wanted to share this story after all that time to maybe help someone not doing the same mistakes I did. Also english is not my first language.

I (now M35, 22 at that time) and a girl (F33, 20 at that time) met a couple of weeks ago. and started to be friends and hang out occasionally.

First Chance: Then there was this day, where we hung out all day long and then after that we went to her place and watched some fail videos on youtube. After a while we kissed and she looked at me and said: "If you don't leave, we might do something stupid." I automatically noded like I understood the assignment, hugged her, got up and left. I honestly did not realize what she meant at first but this was the first time questioning myself, why I did not get that.

Second Chance: Fast forward about two weeks later: We agreed to spent the whole day together and went swimming and later to her place cooked a meal, ate and watched again some fail videos on youtube. At about 2am we decided that we call it a day and I started to leave. At the door then this conversation happened:

Her: "Do you want to stay the night?" Me: "Nah it's fine." Her: "But it'll take you a while to get home." Me: "I'm here by car. So it won't take that long." Her: "Are you sure?" Me: "Yup!" Her: "Okay, good night."

I then turned around and drove home. After arriving I realized what she really offered me. I felt really dumb.

Third Chance: 3 days later we met again within my friend group to play laser tag. She was with us and we divided us into 5 groups of 4. My friend, his girlfriend, her and I were in a team and we sticked the whole game together. While playing she always mentioned how good I am at that game and after the first round ended we got the results from the game and went on to give out our own kind of awards and titles we won during the game. I won the Gaylord (there is a profile on a gun named that way so we kind of took it from there) prize, which is shooting the most people from behind during a game. My friend took me aside and we had this convo:

He: "You know, she likes you?" Me: "Nah, I don't think so." He: "Dude! She's into you! Don't miss all the signs!" Me: "Already did it twice, so I don't think she's still into me." He: "She is, just don't fuck it up!"

After a break, we went for a second round in the same teams. We were again walking around as a union and she then this happened:

Her: "I'd like to get a shot from you from behind." Me: "It's not possible, we're on the same team!"

I honestly did not realize what she said at that moment, but I saw my friend and his girlfriend both doing a facepalm. At that moment I had no idea why they did that but we went on. After the round we did the same like after first round and called it after a third round a day and we all went home.

I drove her, my friend and his girlfriend home. After my friend and his girlfriend got out, only us were left and while driving to her place she started a convo:

Her: "It'll be boring at home." sighs Me: "You could do something fun like reading a book or playing video games." Her: "Well yeah I could, but alone it's not that much fun." Me: "True." Her: "Well... do you wanna play Mario Kart at my place?" Me: "Sure, let's hit the tracks!"

After we arrived at her place, we started to play Mario Kart and after about 3 hours, she said, she's tired and went to bed. She also brought me a pillow and a blanket to sleep on the couch. The next morning we had breakfast together and I left.

I did not realize at first what she really meant but after talking to my friend, he looked at me and was like: "DUDE!". I felt dumb. That's when I realized how dumb I was.

About a year later we went out to a party with her friends and I hooked up with a friend of her. Two days later we met and she asked me what's wrong with me. I had no clue what she meant at first. But after a little explanation I knew what she meant and yeah. I felt dumb.

I have to say in my defense, at least for the first time: When we met, she said to me that she's tired of guys missinterpreting her messages and falling in love with her.

TL;DR: A girl gave me 3 chances to hook up with her but I didn't get the very obvious signs she gave me.

I hope you all have a laugh on me. Nowadays I can laugh about it.

TIFU - Don’t do what I did

On Sunday morning Aug. 24th, I awoke to discover a large blind spot in my right eye, which turned out to be what is called wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD). It has resulted in a very significant, permanent loss of vision in that eye. Although I maintain good peripheral vision, whatever I focus on at best is very blurry, and mostly disappears. I can barely make out the large E at the top of the eye chart. If this happens to my left eye I’ll be unable to read or drive. It turns out that I missed the opportunity that I had to prevent this from becoming a serious problem because I failed to report what appeared to be minor changes in my vision. In the weeks prior to August I had noticed that what I knew to be straight lines appeared to my right eye to have a little waviness. I also noticed that the color of my front lawn, which I could see through the window from my recliner,  was subdued, looked almost gray, in my right eye. So I scheduled an eye exam, which revealed the p...

TIFU by getting suspended for 2 days by my front office in school.

I (13M) am an African American student at Jeannette junior high who had got suspended for 2 days here. I was in math class minding my business until my teacher had told me to go to the main office, which posed no problem to me. As i went down there, the people of the front office had stopped me and made me get a new ID (yes, we have id's.) so i had asked them if i could maybe do a different alternative and call my mother to let her bring the Id here, even then, the Id isn't that important. So, although i was talking to them in a calm manner and not showing any signs of rebellion, they had threatened to call the police on me without thinking twice before calling my parents. This is where i started getting angry, and even then now the black peers agree that could have been a racially motivated action. They then told me to sit in the office conference room because of that, leading into more anger. They had then called my mother who had came over to the school didn't even let ...

TIFU by putting my already skinny jeans in the dryer on high heat.

TL;DR: Was stupid and didn't realize I put my clothes on extra high heat in the dryer. Had to rock skintight skinny jeans all day with tighty whities (only clean pair I had since I procrastinate doing laundry like crazy). I guess the constant wedgies and squishing are punishment for my stupidity. Honestly don’t know who else to blame but myself for this. I’m a scatterbrained guy so I literally put the highest setting on a load with most of my clothes, and my skinny jeans that I was planning to wear today. You can probably already see where this is going, but somehow I didn’t. For context, these jeans were already pushing the limits of what could reasonably be called wearable. They fit, technically, but only in the sense that I could get them on with enough determination and a bit of strategic breathing. Sitting down in them was more of a commitment than a casual action. Still, they looked good, and I had convinced myself that discomfort was just part of the aesthetic. So this m...
