TIFU by accidentally taking an extra magnesium pill, completely throwing off my day, and scaring my parents
So, this happened recently, and it’s a solid reminder to always double-check your medication bottles.
I take Magnesium B6 for everyday stress, and I'm normally supposed to take 3 pills a day. Well, one day I took my 3rd pill and hopped in the shower. When I got out, I felt super out of it—major brain fog and dizziness. I looked in the mirror and my pupils looked a bit weird, but I just brushed it off, figured it was regular fatigue, and went to lie down.
A while later, I woke up with terrible stomach cramps. I managed to get to the bathroom, but felt so dizzy and weak that I practically collapsed (my mom had to help me get back to my room). I ended up feeling sick to my stomach multiple times while my parents panicked and tried to figure out what was wrong.
The next morning, we went to see the doctor to be safe. While explaining what I took, it suddenly clicked: I had accidentally swallowed four pills instead of three that day! The doctor immediately went, "Ah, mild magnesium overdose." He gave us some simple advice on adjusting meals, told my parents to keep an eye on my routine, and sent us home.
TL;DR: Accidentally took 4 magnesium pills instead of 3, felt miserably dizzy and sick, scared my parents, and learned to count my vitamins properly.
