TL;DR: had a job interview. They asked me why I left last prestigious my chef job. I said they let all of us go due to COVID at the end of 2018. As the title says - I said the wrong thing when interviewer asked me why I left my last chef job for a BIG company. I told them they closed our department and let go the entire culinary department for Covid in 2018. They did close my department in 2018 due to rampant growth and we couldnt meet the minimum requirements anymore. I moved departments before they really did fire all of us due to covid. Am I screwed? They asked me to email them my references- so, do I retract my statement with correct information or let it go? I already think I didn’t get the job (I have blue hair and they kept mentioning how conservative they are). I did mention I’d dye my hair if necessary, not an issue. Big question really is, do I retract my statement with the referral email or not.

Today I wanted to have a coffee... well, a mocha. My parents have both a Keurig and a normal bag of coffee grounds. I was feeling fancy so I decided to turn my nose to the Keurig and went for the normal way of making coffee. We usually have this metal reusable coffee filter we use with coffee grounds, but a part of it got lost somehow and it no longer worked. No matter, we have paper filters! And here's where the trouble started. I've never used paper coffee filters. Seems pretty straightforward though, you just put it in the cup and pour the water over them, right? But it's so flimsy, I was skeptical the filter wouldn't just sink in to the cup... but hey, everyone uses these things I can figure it out. So I pour the grounds in and then the water on top and... the filter falls in. The grounds get everywhere, and I had already put a hot chocolate packet into the cup which was now contaminated by unfiltered grounds. Dammit I'll try again. Must have been a bad filte...

I have been obsessed over this damn series for years but a few months ago after listening to my usual literary analysis and a date in which we discussed the books extensively, I decided to finally read them. I've been working 9am to 9pm some days because I have 2 jobs. I've been working 6 days a week, sometimes 7. I've been exhausting myself. Ive been burnt out for like a year.
