i’m a prospective teacher, and i’m working on finding a school that’s hiring right now since i was recently hired by a school district. i’ve been emailing principals and following up with a phone call to inquire more about the job openings and hopefully stir up some interest. well, today i called a school i’m hopeful about when my cat started meowing at the sound of my voice. one of my nicknames for her is “princess” and when i was on the phone i slipped up and said “may i please speak to PRINCESS [lastname]?” instead of principal. felt like i was going to fucking die and quickly tried to remedy the slip of the tongue but i could hear the receptionist laughing quietly on the other line. turns out the principal was in a meeting and she never called me back. i might be too mortified to call again tomorrow. tl;dr - called about a teaching position and accidentally referred to the principal as princess. didn’t get a callback from said principal.

Well, today I won the award for the most embarrassing family miscommunication of the year. Here's the lowdown on my spectacular group chat fail. This morning, I was barely awake and scrolling through our bustling family group chat. My cousin had just announced her second pregnancy, and everyone was chiming in with their well-wishes. The actual FU happened about last year, but I’m facing the consequences of it now. Last year, one of my friends was starting the process of separating from his now ex wife. He told me that she would be taking the car, thus leaving him without a car. He was my friend for 10+ years, so I of course said yes when he asked if I could co-sign for him to get a car. After all the paperwork was done I had told him that if he ever needed any help with a payment to let me know, not only to save my credit if it were ever in jeopardy, but as a bro too. Fast forward to three months ago where I started getting letters in the mail from unpaid toll tickets and calls from the bank saying that he was two months behind on payments. My friend's and I were at our go to Billiards Dive Bar. We are feeling great, got some drinks, had a good time. I am feeling tipsy and good. We decide to leave to go to their home. As we are leaving, a gentleman walks in wearing what could be described as a Childs Cowboy Halloween costume. Think "Woody" from Toy Story but a grown man wearing the outfit. My friend says "omg you look so cute in that!" and I follow up with "What was the occasion?". He responds "It was for my Childs school Auction for funds for the school" and I very excitedly asked "Oh nice were you someone that got auction?!" My heart then drops in my stomach and my eyes widen, realizing, I just asked a Black man if he got Auctioned off. I immediately said "I DID NOT MEAN IT LIKE THAT". Gonna go ahead and tag it as NSFW, but this just happened. And I mean, within 30-40 minutes of me typing it. Could be longer, but as of now I feel comfy saying that’s the timeframe. But to the story. So I’ve recently had some constipation issues and was trying to clear things up down there so Ive been taking some laxatives to fix this. Recently, a family friend came to town and was taking us to spots around the city to eat. Now I knew that we would be going out to eat, but I still didn’t know when or how it would happen so I thought I was in the clear. So, around 3pm I took a set of laxatives and just hung out till dinner time. Everything seems fine till the family friend announced we weee going to a food court.
